Gus Laggner is an associate attorney at Leake Andersson in the Lafayette office.
He focuses his practice on casualty, construction, insurance, labor & employment, and intellectual property matters. Gus has represented corporations and insurers in complex disputes in state and federal courts across Louisiana. He brings extensive experience managing intricate factual and contractual issues, navigating nuanced legal frameworks, and handling multi-party litigation.
Gus earned his Juris Doctor from LSU’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2017, where he served as an associate on the Louisiana Law Review and as President of the Moot Court Board. He began his legal career at a Louisiana insurance defense firm. Subsequently, Gus spent seven years at one of Louisiana’s leading oil and gas defense firms, representing clients in complex energy litigation matters. During this time, he was recognized by his peers in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for Energy Law, Environmental Litigation, Natural Resources Law, and Oil and Gas Law.
Gus is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts.
Personal
A native of Slidell, Louisiana, Gus now lives in Lafayette with his wife, their son and daughter, and two dogs. He is an avid New Orleans Saints fan and enjoys cooking in his free time.
