Leake & Andersson has demonstrated a strong commitment to Pro Bono work. The firm requires all attorneys, including partners, to volunteer at least 10 hours per year on Pro Bono assignments. Pro Bono assignments are typically obtained from the New Orleans Pro Bono Project and include issues such as successions, wills, contractor disputes and evictions. Firm attorneys often volunteer to act as the Pro Bono Project “Lawyer of the Day” which involves a day working at the New Orleans Pro Bono Project screening new clients and evaluating current cases. In recent years, Leake & Andersson attorneys have also been regular participants in Pro Bono projects spearheaded by Judge Jay Zainey of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, including H.E.L.P. (Homeless Experience Legal Protection).

The Firm was recently awarded the New Orleans Pro Bono Project’s Distinguished Service Award. A number of Leake & Andersson attorneys have been recognized for contributing more than 50 hours in a year of Pro Bono work.
