Donald A. Hoffman serves as Counsel to the Firm, and is based in the New Orleans office. Mr. Hoffman’s nearly forty year legal career includes service as the City Attorney for New Orleans under Mayor Dutch Morial and decades of leading roles with several law firms. He is a highly respected and very experienced litigator who has made countless appearances before state and federal courts in many different jurisdictions.
Mr. Hoffman is past President of the American Board of Trial Advocates (Louisiana chapter) and is a lifetime Fellow of the American and the Louisiana Bar Foundations, where he served as Vice-President and Chairman of the Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts Committee. He is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel and a proctor in the Maritime Law Association of the United States. He serves as a member of the Trial Skills Faculty of Loyola Law School and guest lectures at Louisiana Law Center seminars. He is a former member of the Tulane Law School Trial Advocacy Faculty.
Mr. Hoffman was the Founder of the French American Chamber of Commerce (Louisiana chapter), and currently serves on its Board of Directors. He has served on the Board of Directors of the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce and was Chairman of its Aviation Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of the World Trade Center and on its Governmental Affairs Committee. Mr. Hoffman is a sustaining member of the National World War II Museum and a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America.
Mr. Hoffman received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
